Gainsborough Waste/Texas Outhouse are based in Houston Texas and specialize in Roll-off Dumpsters, Compactors, Non-Hazardous Environmental Services, Portable Toilets, Restroom Trailers, Handwashing & Sanitization stations and Hauling & Miscellaneous.

The Position:

The Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring delivery schedules and assisting drivers with their routes. As a Dispatcher you will schedule drivers and respond to customer requests as they are received. Success in this role is achieved by scheduling tickets with zero incidents or delays and maintaining accurate records of deliveries made.

Responsibilities:

Logistics and Planning

1. Maintains contact between drivers and home base, dispatching drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers' locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and speed of response.

2. Collects, interprets, and analyzes various types of logistics data including inventory, asset reliability, and other route data to make decisions that increase overall routing accuracy.

3. Assigns routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day; closes service tickets each day.

4. Plans, distributes, monitor and follow-up daily route assignments for roll-off drivers to ensure customers are serviced per Gainsborough Waste/Texas Outhouse standards and agreements.

5. Serves as an emergency point of contact to drivers.

Interdepartmental Communications

6. Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues. Effectively communicates with both drivers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Communicates any service changes to Sales staff.

7. Answers incoming calls from Customer Service, Sales, and management team and provide requested route information and/or follow up.

8. Works directly with Customer Service Manager, Operations Manager and the Drivers to ensure prompt follow-through of all issues.

Reporting

9. Reviews route paperwork and closes work orders from previous day routes, paying close attention to detail, identifying, and correcting any issues.

10. Records and documents information from drivers and distribute to appropriate departments.

11. Maintains all data in appropriate systems.

12. Reports driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.

Additional Responsibilities

13. Receive and respond to customer-driver incidents and report critical information.

14. Participate in safety meetings.

15. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory   Responsibilities

1. Team Lead – Provide limited supervision to others through motivation, direction, review, and feedback of assigned tasks.

Are you a fit?

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college in accounting preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be familiar with the City of Houston.
  • Proficient with computer systems such as Microsoft Office.
